AWAKEN
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Singles for Christ (SFC) Tampa added four new members to their chapter in early March. Their first Christian Life Program (CLP) of the year was a weekend filled with strengthened brotherhood and sisterhood, insightful discussions, and empowering messages shared by SFC members who came from local and far to assist.
The CLP was led by SFC Tampa members, Jon Barlaan and Donna Bantayan. The weekend’s theme was “Awakened,” which focused on the message of awakening our faith and relationships with Christ. It was a theme set as a goal not just for the new members, but for the service team as well.
Talks throughout the weekend encompassed a variety of topics, such as “Faith and Healing” and “Life in the Holy Spirit,” which contributed to a deeper understanding of our relationships with Christ. After each session, the CLP leaders invited all to a period of prayer and reflection. This time gave members a chance to personally meditate on the messages they previously heard through silent prayer or journaling.
SFC Tampa now welcomes Dan Cantuba, Mary Knutson, Shawn Barlaan, and JC Ryan as new members of their chapter and members of the University of South Florida SFC-Campus Based Chapter.

And giving us our new brothers and sisters.
May You bless their walk with You
And mold them to strive for holiness.
We lift up to you the SFC Tampa that it may continue
To flourish and reach the hearts of others.
